'Descend and Dwell', Marte Johnslien, 2025
An ongoing series of ceramic tablets, which will eventually take the form of a book, exploring the visual and material history of Norway’s titanium dioxide industry. The historical advertisements are sourced from the archives of Kronos Titan, Titania’s sister company, and originate from the period 1918-1950. The ceramic tablets are glazed in materials from the industry such as titanium dioxide, ilmenite and iron sulphate, as well as other glaze materials.
