We are pleased to announce the release of a podcast episode with postdoc Helene Birkeli Engnes and senior researcher Tonje Haugland Sørensen about our upcoming exhibition "Nordmandsdalen" at KODE Art Museums, Bergen.

The episode, titled "A Postman, a King, and the Sculpture Park of the Norwegian People: What Exactly is Nordmandsdalen?", delves into the story that began with Jørgen Garnaas, a postman known for crafting wooden figures of everyday Norwegians he encountered in his travels. These creations captured the interest of the monarch in Copenhagen, who sought to have them recreated in more durable, luxurious materials sourced from his colonies, and in larger-than-life sizes.

Postdoc Helene Birkeli Engnes and senior researcher Tonje Haugland Sørensen are curators of the Nordmandsdalen exhibition, together with Morten Spjøtvold at KODE and Professor Mathias Danbolt at Copenhagen University.
